Record the video, not the whole screen
When the thing you want to share is a video already playing on a page, recording your entire screen captures everything around it as well. With the extension installed, hovering a video player shows a small VeoRec bar on it.
Record just the player
Click Record on the bar and VeoRec captures that video's picture and sound directly, with no share dialog, even if you scroll away. Stop, and it uploads like any recording, with a link, a transcript and a title.
Download a plain video file
When a site serves its video as an ordinary file, the bar also offers Download, which saves it with Chrome's own downloader. Chrome asks for the download permission the first time.
What it will not do
Protected videos (DRM), players that forbid it, and streaming sites such as YouTube are not downloadable, and protected or cross-origin videos cannot be recorded this way. The bar says so instead of failing silently.
